Peseiro gives additional reasons for inviting Ahmed Musa to Super Eagles

Head Coach of Nigeria national team, Jose Peseiro has again given detailed explanations for inviting team captain, Ahmed Musa for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON qualifier against Sierra Leone.
Musa made the 23 man list released by Peseiro for the prosecution of the Sunday’s duel in Monrovia, Liberia and this has drawn criticism from football stakeholders as they believed the Super Eagles’ captain lacks game time in his club.
Peseiro, whose contract as coach of Super Eagles expires at the end of this month insists the Turkey based forward remains relevant to the team for his experience and leadership quality.
“When building a team, you consider all situations and actions,” Peseiro told the media.
“I believe Musa can play for us, and we need his core experience, leadership, and command. His presence in the squad will create team spirit, organization, and a sense of unity.”
The 2013 AFCON champions only need a draw to secure their ticket to the continental biennial tournament which holds in Cote D’Ivoire in January, 2024.
