Nigeria-eligible forward Edna Imade shines in beach soccer during break from football

Nigeria-eligible forward, Edna Imade and her team, Cacereno returned to beach soccer after her Spanish club side’s failed bid to gain promotion to the women’s football topflight league in Spain in the just concluded season.
The team improved on its previous performance at the Eurowinner beach soccer cup with a fifth placed finish.
It had finished sixth in its previous campaign at the tournament.
Imade helped Ernesto Sanchez’s side achieve the feat and ended the tournament as the top goal scorer.
At the end of the Spanish second tier football league season, Imade scored 11 goals as her team lost the Playoff semi final to Deportivo La Coruna.
Imade and her teammates have a few days to rest before the last day of the National Beach Soccer League on July 7.
The 22-year-old forward is eligible to play for Nigeria senior women’s national team and will hope to put up good performances next season to get a call up.
With the growth of beach soccer in Europe and steady rise in Africa, Imade might have a huge chance of representing the West African nation in the sandy sport earlier than Super Falcons when the game gains ground in West Africa.
