John Obuh urges want-away Victor Osimhen to stay put at Napoli

Former Nigeria national U-20 coach, John Obuh has advised Super Eagles forward, Victor Osimhen to stay for one more season with the Italian champions after helping them to their first league title since Diego Maradona era.
Napoli wants to tie down Osimhen to a new contract but clubs are interested in his services and club owner, Aurelio De Laurentis has put a price tag of 180 million Euros, approximately 155 million pounds on the Nigerian.
To this end, Obuh has advised that Osimhen should not move away from the Italia Serie A side but should remain there to exhibit the feats he exhibited last season in the league.
“He has the opportunity to build more empire for himself because of his age. We can see a situation where a lot of these guys move to Saudi Arabia,” the ex-AS Roma Academy boss told Brila FM.
“They can’t do anything there except to make money because of time. What I would advise him is possibly, to be candid with you, let him remain at Napoli and put in the same efforts or more but once he repeat the same feat and it gets to work let his next contract not be too long.
“One to two years is okay. Repeat that same feat. Once he repeat it, he will find out that he has been able to place himself on a golden situation where people would beat their chest and say yes Osimhen has arrived.”
The former Lille forward ended last season as the top goal scorer in the Italian top-flight and broke George Weah’s record as Africa’s top goal scorer in Serie A.
