John Ogu Aims for Europa League Glory After Stellar Performance in Israeli Premier League
In a remarkable display of skill and determination, Super Eagles midfielder John Ogu recently showcased his prowess by opening his Israeli Premier League goal account for Hapoel Beer-Sheva. Looking ahead, Ogu has set his sights on the UEFA Europa League, where Hapoel Beer-Sheva is set to host Steaua Bucaresti on Thursday. With determination in his voice, Ogu emphasized the importance of bouncing back after a 3-1 defeat to Victoria Plzen on matchday 2, following their 2-1 victory over FC Lugano on matchday 1.
“We have just one win in the group, and we need to bounce back from that defeat to Plzen to stand a chance of getting out of the group,” Ogu, a key figure in the Nigeria squad during their successful Russia 2018 World Cup qualification, added.
Currently third in Europa League Group G table, Hapoel Beer-Sheva aims to secure a favorable position behind leaders Steaua Bucaresti, with three points and an identical goal difference to second-placed Victoria Plzen.
