Leicester City’s Shakespeare Confirms Ndidi and Vardy Fit for Clash Against West Brom

Leicester City manager, Craig Shakespeare, has assured fans that key players Wilfred Ndidi and Jamie Vardy are fit for the upcoming English Premier League match against West Brom at the King Power Stadium on Monday. This follows Ndidi’s injury scare during the Super Eagles’ 1-0 victory against Chipolopolo of Zambia in the FIFA 2018 World Cup qualifier in Uyo last Saturday.
Contrary to initial concerns, Shakespeare dismissed any notions of a serious injury to Ndidi, stating in Thursday’s press conference, “There was a scare about Wilfred Ndidi, but it was only cramp. He trained today (Thursday) fully. He is fine, no problems there.”
Providing an update on Vardy’s condition, Shakespeare said, “Jamie Vardy has fully recovered from his hip problem. He had the injections straight after the Bournemouth game. He was given a bit of time away because he wasn’t able to do anything. But he has trained fully this week every day and has looked sharp.”
Shakespeare further expressed relief that the international break had allowed the squad to regroup, ensuring a clean bill of health for the upcoming fixture. He added, “All the internationals have returned with a good clean bill of health.”
However, Leicester will be without defenders Robert Huth (ankle) and Matty James (Achilles), who are on a longer-term recovery path.
Leicester City currently sits 17th in the Premier League table with five points, one place above the relegation zone. Fans are eagerly anticipating the match against West Brom, with hopes that the fit Ndidi and Vardy will make significant contributions to secure a positive result for the Foxes.
