Samuel Eto’o Shines as Antalyaspor Edges Past Kasimpasa

Cameroonian football icon Samuel Eto’o displayed his goal-scoring prowess, securing a pivotal win for Antalyaspor as they defeated Kasimpasa 2-1 on Friday night. The match marked another challenging outing for Super Eagles defender Kenneth Omeruo, who endured his fifth appearance this season without a victory for Kasimpasa.

Omeruo, seeking his first win in the Turkish Super Lig during his second stint with Kasimpasa, played the entire 90 minutes in a game that added another defeat to the team’s tally. Following this loss, Kasimpasa now occupies the 15th position in the league table after nine games this season.

Despite Omeruo’s efforts against Galatasaray, Osmanlispor, Sivasspor, and Antalyaspor, his team has struggled, securing only one point against Kayserispor.

In the fiercely contested match, Eto’o found the net in the 43rd minute, while Deniz Kadah added another goal in the 74th minute, canceling out Jhon Murillo’s opener in the 23rd minute. Murillo’s fortunes took a turn for the worse when he received a red card for a second bookable offense in the 53rd minute.

Referee Umit Ozturk issued a total of 10 yellow cards, contributing to the overall intensity of the match.

Omeruo, who made his 56th appearance in the Turkish Super Lig on Friday, is anticipated to rejoin the Super Eagles squad for their upcoming World Cup qualifying clash against Algeria.

Next in line for Kasimpasa is a Turkish Cup Fourth Round encounter against Niğde Belediyespor next Tuesday.
