Hibernian’s Ambrose Vows Redemption Following Cup Exit

Ambrose Efe, the resilient defender for Hibernian, expressed determination to bounce back after a stinging 4-2 defeat against Celtic in Saturday’s Betfred Cup semi-final clash, according to reports from Completesportsnigeria.com.

The former Celtic stalwart, now a crucial part of Hibernian’s defensive lineup, remained undeterred despite the setback. Efe Ambrose confidently asserted that the team is steadfast in their commitment to restoring their winning form and securing their Premier Division status.

Reflecting on the challenging loss to Celtic, Ambrose remarked, “That is football, we gave it our best shot, but it was painful to see that we lost the game.” He emphasized the team’s unwavering dedication, stating, “We will keep working hard to ensure Hibernian does well in the league this season. The players have that self-belief that the club won’t go down.”

Hibernian, having earned promotion to the Scottish top flight last season, currently stands at seventh place with three wins, four draws, and two losses. Ambrose remains optimistic that the club will rise from the bottom after the recent defeat, expressing faith in the collective effort of the players.

Celtic, on the other hand, secured their place in the Betfred Cup final and extended their unbeaten streak to an impressive 60 games with a 4-2 victory over Hibernian at Hampden Park. Goals from defender Michael Lustig and substitute striker Moussa Dembele, with a brace each, sealed Celtic’s ticket to next month’s final.
