Ndidi’s Precision Assists Mahrez’s Brilliance, Iheanacho’s Goal Controversy Unsettles Leicester in Stoke Clash

Leicester City faced a spirited challenge from Stoke City at the Bet 365 Stadium on Saturday, resulting in a 2-2 draw despite the Foxes taking the lead twice. The encounter showcased the skill of Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi, who played a pivotal role in Leicester’s second goal, while Nigerian striker Kelechi Iheanacho experienced a contentious disallowed goal in the 88th minute.
Leicester took an early lead with a goal from new signing Vicente Iborra, his debut goal for the Foxes, only to be swiftly equalized by Xherdan Shaqiri for Stoke. Algeria forward Riyad Mahrez restored Leicester’s advantage before substitute Peter Crouch leveled the score for the home team.
The Foxes currently sit in 10th place with 13 points, while Stoke occupies the 14th position with 12 points in the Premier League standings.
In the 33rd minute, Iborra capitalized on a Harry Maguire knockdown to break the deadlock, but Shaqiri’s curling effort in the 39th minute brought Stoke back on level terms. The second half saw Ndidi orchestrating a brilliant play that allowed Mahrez to put Leicester ahead in the 60th minute. However, Stoke responded once again as Crouch headed in Shaqiri’s corner in the 66th minute.
Despite Leicester’s efforts to secure the victory, Iheanacho’s disallowed goal in the dying minutes added drama to the match. The encounter also witnessed impressive saves from both goalkeepers, with Stoke’s Jack Butland denying Leicester’s attempts.
This hard-fought draw leaves both teams in a mid-table position, reflecting the competitiveness of the Premier League.
