Onuachu Expresses Desire to Depart Midtjylland Following Failed Transfer to Werder Bremen

Paul Onuachu, the Nigerian striker, has indicated his intention to leave Midtjylland next summer after his proposed move to German Bundesliga club Werder Bremen collapsed last year. Onuachu has been an integral part of the Danish club since joining from Vejle Boldklub in 2012, having spent the past five seasons there.
The 23-year-old forward came close to finalizing a transfer to Werder Bremen during the previous summer transfer window. However, the German side failed to meet the player’s valuation, as set by Midtjylland, the former Danish champions. Despite this setback, Onuachu remained a key figure for his current club, emerging as their top scorer last season with an impressive tally of 23 goals in 45 appearances.
Reflecting on the failed move, Onuachu disclosed to Completesportsnigeria.com, “I was so close to joining Werder Bremen last summer, but my club demanded more than what was offered.” He added, “I am certain that I will secure a transfer this summer. I will have to decide between Turkey and France. If Werder Bremen were to submit a renewed bid, I would be eager to join them.”
Onuachu’s performance this season has been commendable, having netted 15 goals and contributed six assists in 24 appearances across all competitions for Midtjylland. His consistent displays have attracted interest from clubs in Turkey and France, further fueling speculation regarding his future.
As the summer transfer window approaches, all eyes will be on Onuachu as he contemplates his next move. The talented striker’s potential departure from Midtjylland promises to be one of the most captivating transfer sagas of the upcoming window. Football enthusiasts eagerly await the outcome, as Onuachu’s decision will undoubtedly have a significant impact on his career trajectory.
