John Obi Mikel picks Paul Scholes over Frank Lampard as Best English star

Former Chelsea midfielder,  Mikel John Obi has picked Paul Scholes over his former teammate Frank Lampard as the best English player.

Mikel spent over a decade at Stamford Bridge where he shares the locker room with Frank Lampard whom many considered as the best English midfielder at the time.

However, his former teammate believes rival player was a better English player than his former teammate.

“For me, he [Scholes] is the best English player,” Mikel Obi said on Rio Ferdinand’s podcast Vibe with Five (via Daily Star).

“He is absolutely brilliant, the way he played the game, and we all think he is probably the only English midfielder that would get into the Barcelona team back then, he was that good.”
