Head Coach of Nigeria’s Super Eagles has called for extra commitment and dedication from his players when they take on Ivory Coast in the African Cup of Nations, AFCON final on Sunday.
The Portuguese tactician will be aiming to win his first national team title with the Super Eagles even as he anticipated a difficult outing against the host nation.
While expressing his desire to make history with Nigeria by beating the Ivorians, Pesiero said his boys must play as a unit and leave no room for errors.
“It’s the final, good atmosphere, with a full stadium. Our players know that it is not easy to win the AFCON and they must put in their best to win,” the Portuguese manager told media.
“Playing a final is always important. This is my first AFCON. Some were saying it’s been special, and I can attest to that.
“The emotions in Africa are very special. All of this in my opinion is a great way to learn and I would love to win it with the Nigerian team.”
Super Eagles and their Cote d’Ivoire counterpart will clash at 9pm at the Alassane Ouattara Stadium in Ebimpe, Abidjan.
