Super Eagles forward Ahmed Musa is eyeing an extended tenure at Russian Premier League club CSKA Moscow, either through a loan extension or a permanent move next summer, as reported by The Leicester City star, currently on loan at CSKA Moscow, emphasized his preference for continued active involvement on the field, indicating a willingness to stay in Russia rather than returning to Leicester where regular playing time might be limited.

In a conversation with CSN, Musa stated, “Go back to Leicester? I’m enjoying my game here, and I’ve enjoyed more playing time here too. It’s better to stay here and play regularly than warm the bench.” The sentiment reflects Musa’s satisfaction with his current role and the substantial game time he has experienced since joining CSKA Moscow.

Musa showcased his impact in a recent match, scoring for CSKA in a 1-1 draw against Ufa in the Russian Premier League at the Stadion Neftyanik. This appearance marked his fifth league outing for CSKA since making the loan switch from Leicester City during the last transfer window.

The 25-year-old Nigeria international previously played for CSKA Moscow from 2012 to 2016 before joining Leicester City. Musa’s time at CSKA was highly productive, with 54 goals in 168 games and contributions to the club’s three league titles, a Russian Cup, and two Russian Super Cups.

As Musa continues to thrive in the Russian football scene, the prospect of an extended stay with CSKA Moscow seems promising, providing the forward with the desired regular playing time and a platform to further showcase his football prowess.
