Bendel Insurance handed Nigeria Premier Football League leaders Remo Stars a surprising 2-1 defeat at home in Benin City on Saturday.

Bendel Insurance’s captain, Meyiwa Oritseweyinmi, was the standout performer, scoring a brilliant brace—one in each half—to secure all three points for his team.

His stellar performance earned him the Man of the Match award, which was presented by Edo State’s Hon. Commissioner for Information and Communication, Rt. Hon. Paul Ohonbamu.

The victory propelled Bendel Insurance up to 8th position in the standings with 41 points, as they look ahead to a challenging Match Day 29 encounter against Abia Warriors next week.
