Bayer Leverkusen received a significant boost to their aspirations for silverware this season as Nigerian striker Victor Boniface returned to full training after a three-month injury layoff.

The Super Eagles’ forward had been sidelined with a groin injury, which saw him miss out on participating in the 2023 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament held in Ivory Coast. However, Boniface has been steadily working towards a full recovery in recent weeks.

With 16 goals and eight assists in 23 games this season, the 23-year-old’s return comes as a timely boost for Die Werkself, who are actively competing for three major titles.

Boniface’s presence in training was captured on Monday, signaling his readiness to contribute to the team’s campaign across the Bundesliga, DFB Pokal, and UEFA Europa League competitions.

Xabi Alonso’s side has maintained an unbeaten streak in all competitions this season, positioning themselves as formidable contenders in their pursuit of multiple trophies.

The return of Boniface adds depth and firepower to Leverkusen’s attacking options, further enhancing their chances of success as they enter the decisive stages of the season.

With Boniface back in action, Leverkusen will be looking to capitalize on his goal-scoring prowess and overall contribution to propel them towards achieving their season objectives.
