Chinemerem Ugwueze, captain of Enugu Rangers, is confident about securing a positive result in the second leg of their CAF Champions League matchup against Sagrada Esperanca on Sunday.

The Flying Antelopes will carry a slim 1-0 lead into Luanda, courtesy of a late goal from Kazeem Ogunleye in the first leg.

The Eastern Nigerian team departed Enugu on Wednesday and is set to arrive in Luanda on Thursday, fully prepared for the challenge ahead.

Ugwueze acknowledged the tense atmosphere they will face but emphasized the team’s readiness.

“We are very focused and have invested a lot in our preparations for this encounter,” Ugwueze stated.

“With the intensive training we’ve done since the first leg, we’re confident in our ability to defend the club’s honour.”

He noted that while the match will be high-pressure, the team is prepared for the task.

The game will take place at the 48,500-capacity Estadio 11 de Novembro in Luanda, with kickoff scheduled for 15:30 (Angolan Time) on Sunday, September 22, 2024.
