Christy Ucheibe scores in consecutive match in SL Benfica comeback

Nigeria midfielder Christy Ucheibe helped Portuguese champions SL Benfica to a 2-2 draw with Valadares Gaia on Saturday.

The host had to come from two goals down in the first leg of the Taça da Portugal women’s semi-final.

Carolina Santiago opened scoring for Valadares in the 22nd minute at the Caixa Futebol Campus.

Erica Parkinson doubled the traveler’s advantage in the 47th minute of play.

Ucheibe started her side’s comeback in the 57th minute as she pulled a goal back.

10 minutes later, Andreia Norton equalized for SL Benfica. The goal was her second in consecutive games

She scored as her team defeated the same opponent 3-0 in the league to clinch the league title.

The Super Falcons player has scored two goals with an assist in the league for SL Benfica.

Both sides will meet in the return leg on April 24, 2025, for a place in the final.
