Nigeria forward Desire Oparanozie has added another trophy to her diadem at the Chinese side Wuhan Jiangda.
The former Dijon captain had won the league and cup double last season with her Chinese team and has now added the 2023 Chinese National Women’s Football Championship.
Wuhan Jiangda defeated Jiangsu 3-1 to win the 2023 Chinese National Women’s Football Championship on Friday.
Malawian forward Chawinga Temwa scored two goals for the Wuhan-based side while Oparanozie converted a goal.
Wuhan Jiangda has won the Chinese Women’s Super League for the last three seasons and are on course to defend their title, having won its first three games of the league season.
It will next face Shandong SL in a league encounter on April 15 after the next international break.
For Oparanozie, she will be making a return to the Super Falcons’ fold for the first time since July 2022. On her last appearance, her superb freekick inspired the team to a 1-0 friendly win over Slovenian side Olimpija Ljubljana.
Ahead of the 2023 Women’s World Cup, the 29-year-old will be aiming to put up a string of good performances to earn a spot at the global showpiece after missing out on the 2022 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations in Morocco.
