Emmanuel Emenike Joins Las Palmas on Six-Month Loan Amidst Nigerian Influx

In a strategic move to fortify their squad, Spanish LaLiga Santander side, UD Las Palmas, has officially announced the signing of Nigerian striker, Emmanuel Emenike, on a six-month loan deal from Greek club Olympiacos. This follows closely on the heels of Las Palmas securing the services of Oghenekaro Etebo on a loan deal from CD Feirense earlier in the week.

Emenike, a 30-year-old forward, finds himself in the midst of an increasing Nigerian presence at Las Palmas, with Oghenekaro Etebo having paved the way. Brown Ideye and Isaac Success also recently joined Malaga from Tianjin TEDA and Watford, respectively, marking a significant Nigerian influx into the Spanish LaLiga Santander during the January transfer window.

Having been sidelined in Olympiacos’ first team, Emenike welcomes this opportunity to reinvigorate his career with Las Palmas. The former Fenerbahce and Spartak Moscow striker is scheduled to arrive at the club later today and is set to undergo a medical examination on Friday at 12:30 before his official presentation to the club’s fans at the Gran Canaria Stadium.

“The arrival of the player (Emenike) is scheduled for tomorrow, Thursday, at 05.05 pm, on a flight from Madrid. He will undergo a medical examination on Friday in the first hour, and around 12.30 will be presented in the press room of the Gran Canaria Stadium,” stated Las Palmas on their official website.

Emmanuel Emenike, a pivotal member of Nigeria’s 2013 African Nations Cup-winning squad and the 2014 World Cup squad, brings a wealth of experience from his stints with Karabukspor, Al-Ain (United Arab Emirates), and West Ham United. His addition to Las Palmas adds another layer of depth and skill to the team as they navigate the challenges of LaLiga Santander.
