Enyimba Thrash Ahudiyannam to Clinch 2026 Abia Federation Cup in Style

Enyimba FC delivered a commanding and ruthless performance to dismantle Ahudiyannam FC 4–0 in the final of the Abia State President Federation Cup at the Enyimba International Stadium on Sunday, April 26, 2026.

The emphatic victory marked a sweet revenge for the People’s Elephant, who were left heartbroken in last year’s final after losing to the same opponents on penalties. This time, however, there was no suspense—only total domination from the NPFL heavyweights.

Enyimba asserted control from kickoff, pressing high and forcing Ahudiyannam deep into their half. Their early dominance paid off in the 20th minute when in-form winger Wonah Williams calmly slotted home the opener, sending the home fans into celebration.

Despite Enyimba’s firm grip on the game, Ahudiyannam had a chance to claw their way back early in the second half after winning a penalty in the 50th minute. But goalkeeper Miracle Ukadike rose to the occasion with a crucial save, denying the rebound as well and effectively crushing the visitors’ hopes.

Just seven minutes later, Enyimba doubled their advantage. Williams grabbed his second of the match in the 57th minute, finishing off a clever assist from Ezekiel Edidiong to further underline his outstanding form.

Technical adviser Emmanuel Deutsch Gustavo made impactful substitutions, introducing academy graduate Samuel Okechukwu and Salman Abubakar, a move that injected fresh energy and intensified the team’s attacking threat.

The tactical switch paid dividends in the 83rd minute when Okechukwu won and converted a penalty, marking a dream contribution in a major final. Joel Ezra then capped off the performance with a brilliant solo goal in the 88th minute, sealing a comprehensive 4–0 victory.

Speaking after the match, Okechukwu expressed gratitude and humility, praising his teammates, coaches, and the club’s management for their support and belief in young talents. He also emphasized the team’s focus on finishing the season strongly.

With the Abia Federation Cup secured in emphatic fashion, Enyimba now shift attention to the Nigeria Professional Football League, where they will face Remo Stars FC in their next fixture at the Enyimba International Stadium.
