Eseosa Sule: St Mirren eye move for West Brom’s Scotland-Nigeria forward

St Mirren are weighing up a move for Scotland-Nigeria centre-forward Eseosa Sule from West Bromwich Albion’s U21 side. The Paisley club are exploring a deal for the 20-year-old, who is under contract at The Hawthorns until June 2027, as they look to bolster their attacking options for the Premiership campaign.
Glasgow-born Sule has been a regular at development level for West Brom, featuring in Premier League 2, and has already had a brief taste of senior football with an appearance in the Championship as well as outings in the League Cup and EFL Cup. His record at age-group level includes a productive spell in the U18 Premier League before stepping up to the Baggies’ U21s last summer.
St Mirren’s interest comes after Sule’s recent loan spell in Scotland with Motherwell, which was formally brought to an end in January 2026 when he returned to West Brom’s U21 squad. That period in the Premiership has given Scottish clubs a closer look at the forward, who is eligible to represent both Nigeria and Scotland.
Sule joined West Brom’s academy from Celtic’s youth set-up in January 2023 and progressed to the U21s in July 2024, signing the deal that runs through to 2027. Any agreement with St Mirren would therefore require the clubs to find a settlement with West Brom, who retain the player on a long-term contract.
