He emphasized that Ogun State will be the first to provide a centralized accommodation for all participating athletes, ensuring their safety and security throughout the festival, which is scheduled from May 16 to 30.
In a discussion with journalists in Abeokuta, he announced that Babcock University will serve as the games village, hosting over 10,000 athletes and officials.
Additionally, he appointed former Green Eagles captain Segun Odegbami as the Grand Sports Ambassador, highlighting the state’s commitment to enhancing its sports infrastructure.
Governor Abiodun expressed his ambition for Ogun State to lead by example, stating that for the first time in NSF history, all athletes and officials will be housed together, akin to international standards.
He assured that transportation will be efficiently managed, with shuttle buses available for athletes, and that the roads will be kept clear during the event.
The Governor also noted that this festival presents an opportunity to foster a sports economy in Ogun, predicting significant economic benefits for local businesses, including fully booked hotels and increased sales for local vendors.
