Nigerian stars Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho have suffered being relegated from the Premier League to the EFL Championship with Leicester City despite a win over West Ham in the last league game of the season.
The Foxes could have still survived relegation if after beating West Ham in their final game of the season and Everton lose to Bournemouth.
However, it was a bittersweet victory for Iheanacho who grabbed an assist but it was not enough to stop Leicester City from being relegated from the Premier League.
Ndidi was missing from the game after suffering an injury in their previous game against Newcastle United.
Leicester took the lead after a tense half-hour as Harvey Barnes finished brilliantly from Iheanacho’s pass to keep the hope alive at halftime as Everton were still goalless against Bournemouth.
The hope didn’t last long after the break as Abdoulaye Doucoure gave Everton the lead five minutes before Wout Faes turned in Youri Tielemans’ freekick to double Leicester’s lead.
Pablo Fornals found a late consolation goal for West Ham as Leicester take meaningless full points.
The Foxes will play in the Championship for the first time since the 2013/14 season after being relegated from the Premier League only seven years after being crowned champions in 2016.
