Inter Milan weigh €20m January move for Udinese goalkeeper Maduka Okoye

Inter Milan are considering a €20 million move for Udinese and Nigeria goalkeeper Maduka Okoye as the Italian champions review their options in goal before the January transfer window.

The 26-year-old has become a possible target for Inter, although the club have not confirmed whether they intend to make a formal offer. Udinese are reportedly seeking about €20 million for the Nigerian international.

Okoye has established himself in Italian football since joining Udinese and continues to feature for the club in Serie A. His performances have also kept him in contention among Nigeria’s goalkeeping options at international level.

Inter are understood to be assessing ways to strengthen their goalkeeping department, with the reported valuation set to play an important part in any negotiations. No official bid has yet been confirmed, and there is no agreement between the two clubs.

The speculation follows a difficult result for Udinese, who were beaten 2-1 away by Torino on October 12. Okoye was involved in the incident that led to Torino’s decisive goal after colliding with team-mate Nicolo Bertola while attempting to clear the ball.

The collision left the goal unguarded, allowing Torino substitute Sandro Kulenovic to score.

Despite that error, reports linking Okoye with Inter indicate that he remains under consideration by one of Italy’s major clubs as they examine their options in the position.

A transfer to Inter would represent a significant step in Okoye’s club career. However, the situation remains at the speculation stage, with the goalkeeper’s reported €20 million price tag and Inter’s interest the main issues to monitor before January.

No completed transfer has been announced and neither Udinese nor Inter have confirmed an agreement.
