Super Eagles’ striker, Paul Onuachu stole the show on Friday night as he scored all four goals for Genk in their commanding 4-1 home win over Royal Charleroi.
The encounter was the Matchday 16 of the Belgian league which the result has further cemented Genk’s first spot on the log.
The opener of the four goals started in the 9th minute from the spot-kick after Marco Illairaharitra went too hard on a Genk player.
The FC Ebedei product got his brace with 10 minutes to end the first finishing up from a through pass from Mike Tresor Ndayishimiye.
The second half saw a rejigged Charleroi and created some worries for their hosts which earned them a goal scored by substitute Daan Heymans in the 66th minute.
Five minutes after, Genk restored the two goal cushion and it was Onuachu who recorded his first hat trick of the season as he tucked in from Joseph Painstil’s pass in the box.
With the game heading to a halt, Genk and of course, Onuachu were not done as they got the icing on the cake with the fourth goal in the added time.
The four goals scored on the night has pushed the Super Eagles star’s goal tally to 12 in just 13 league games played so far. It has also make him the first Genk player to score four goals in a single Jupiler Pro League game since Wesley Sonck against Excelsior Mouscron in February 2003.
