‘Nobody will be unhappy’ – Justin Madugu leaves door open for Super Falcons coach job

Interim coach of Nigeria senior women’s national team, Justin Madugu has expressed his willingness to take permanent coaching position of the team if offered by the Nigeria Football Federation.
Madugu has been leading Super Falcons to victories in all fronts since taking over on acting capacity following the expiration of American coach’s.
His latest victory in charge of the team was a commanding 5-0 win over Cape Verde in the first leg of 2024 African Women’s Cup of Nations qualifiers on Thursday.
The experienced tactician said he has the needed qualities and experience to lead Super Falcons back to top of Women football reckoning as it will be a great honor to handle the team on a full time basis.
“Nobody will be unhappy to work for the progress of the country in any capacity. I will do my best to lift the team if given the opportunity,” he said.
Waldrum’s future with the team is still uncertain if he will be offered a new deal to retain his position as coach of the team.
The 67-year-old American led Nigeria to Round of 16 of the FIFA Women’s World Cup in August,
and has not been seen around the team since the country’s defeat to England at the mundial.
A source close to the NFF revealed Waldrum’s divided loyalty to other commitments could not see him return yo handle Nigeria again.
