Cote d’Ivoire to host 2025 WAFU-B Women’s Champions League

By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde

Cote d’Ivoire have been given hosting right for the 2025 West Africa Zone B (WAFU-B) Women’s Champions League Qualifiers.

WAFU-B confirmed this while releasing their competition schedule for 2025 on Thursday.

The competition will take place from August 9 to 24, 2025.

Women’s league champions from Nigeria, Ghana, Togo, Benin Republic, Côte d’Ivoire, and Burkina Faso will take part in the tournament.

This will be the fourth time that the country will be hosting the tournament, which is in its fifth year after staging it in 2021, 2022, and 2024, as Hasaacas Ladies (Ghana), Bayelsa Queens (Nigeria), and Edo Queens (Nigeria) won the titles.

Nigeria hosted the other edition, which was won by Ampem Darkoa in Benin City in 2023.

The winner of this edition will represent the region at the 2025 CAF Women’s Champions League.

Nigeria will be represented by the 2024/25 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership champions, which will be determined by the end of the Playoffs in Ikenne this month.

Bayelsa Queens, Rivers Angels, Naija Ratels FC, Edo Queens, Remo Stars Ladies, and Nasarawa Amazons will jostle for the title.
