Alvaro Morata signals intent to stay at Galatasaray if Osimhen isn’t replaced

Alvaro Morata has expressed his willingness to remain at Galatasaray beyond this season—on the condition that the club does not sign a replacement for Victor Osimhen should the Nigerian striker leave.
The Spanish forward, currently on loan from AC Milan until January 2026, initially joined the Turkish champions to provide cover for the injured Mauro Icardi.
Since arriving in February, Morata has forged a strong partnership with Osimhen, who is expected to return to Napoli at the end of his loan.
Osimhen, 26, has been in superb form since joining Galatasaray on a temporary deal, but the Turkish club may struggle to retain him due to Napoli’s reported €75 million valuation.
Following Galatasaray’s emphatic 5-1 victory over Eyüpspor, Morata praised his teammate. “Osimhen is a great person and one of the best centre-forwards in the world,” he said, as quoted by Sports Digitale.
“I hope we will all celebrate the championship together. This is an incredible country, my family is very happy here. I want it to continue like this.”
However, according to Turkish outlet Sabah, Morata has made it clear to the Galatasaray hierarchy that he is open to staying—if the club refrains from signing a direct replacement for Osimhen.
“If you don’t replace Osimhen, I’ll stay at Galatasaray,” the report quotes him as saying, signaling his readiness to take on a leading role.
With Galatasaray actively working to retain Osimhen but facing financial hurdles, Morata’s future remains in flux as the club considers its next steps.
