Kevin Schade transfer latest: Roma weigh move for Brentford winger

Roma are exploring a move for German-Nigerian winger Kevin Schade from Brentford as they look to add pace and goals to their Serie A attack. The 24-year-old, who plays predominantly on the left and is valued at around €35 million, is under contract with the Premier League club until 30 June 2028 but has emerged as a leading target for the Italian side.

Schade has established himself as a regular in England’s top flight, making more than 100 Premier League appearances for Brentford and scoring 21 goals. His performances in England have maintained the upward trajectory that began in Germany, where he broke through at SC Freiburg and gained experience in both the Bundesliga and European competition.

Brentford signed Schade permanently in July 2023 for a fee of €25 million after an initial loan from Freiburg earlier that year, underlining the level of investment the London club have already made in the forward. Any negotiations with Roma would be shaped by that outlay and by his current market valuation.

Before moving to England, Schade was part of the Freiburg side that finished as German Cup runners-up in 2021-22, further enhancing his reputation in knockout competitions. Born in Potsdam and standing at 1.85m, he operates as a right-footed left winger and has also featured in the Europa League.

With Schade tied to Brentford for another two years beyond this season, the Premier League club are in a strong position over his future as Roma assess whether to turn their interest into a formal offer.
