The 26-year-old insited that he made the right decision to switch allegiance and he is proud ro don the Green and White jersey of the Super Eagles, stressing that  is why he chose Nigeria over England.
“For me, there was a point when I turned 18 or 19, and for about two years I wasn’t getting into the England set-up as frequently as I was in the previous years, I was getting more into the Chelsea first-team at the time, training more but not getting game time because I wasn’t playing,” Aina told The Beautiful Game Podcast.
“I just thought I wasn’t going to get called up any more. At the time, the Nigeria national team called me, and it was the first-team as well ,so it was a good opportunity for me. I just felt it was right.
“There’s no regrets about it. I have a lot of caps now. The only way is up, hopefully.”
