Nigerian Trio Fails to Propel Bursaspor to Victory Against Malatyaspor
In a highly anticipated Turkish Super Lig clash on Sunday, the trio of William Troost-Ekong, Mikel Agu, and Shehu Abdullahi showcased their skills for Bursaspor, but failed to secure a much-needed victory as they were held to a 0-0 draw at home by Yeni Malatyaspor.
Bursaspor’s struggle for a win persists, marking their fifth consecutive Turkish Super Lig game without a triumph, comprising three defeats and two draws. The last glimmer of success for Bursaspor dates back to December 3 when they secured a resounding 3-0 away win against Konyaspor.
Yeni Malatyaspor, fielding the talented Nigerian midfielder Azubuike Okechukwu, managed to stave off Bursaspor’s attempts, extending their own winless streak to three league games, featuring one defeat and two draws. In the encounter, Troost-Ekong and Agu demonstrated their prowess throughout the entire 90 minutes, while Abdullahi entered the fray in the 83rd minute. Despite their efforts, the deadlock endured, leaving Bursaspor in the 10th position on the league table with 27 points.
On the other side of the pitch, Malatyaspor holds the ninth spot, boasting 28 points. As both teams continue their quest for success in the Turkish Super Lig, the football world watches closely to see if Bursaspor can break free from their winless streak and regain momentum in the league.
