NPFL Friday night football returns as Katsina United welcome Enyimba

Katsina United will host Enyimba at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium on Friday night as Friday evening football returns to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) for the second time this season.

The Matchday Eight fixture follows the campaign’s opening Friday night game, when Shooting Stars defeated Inter Lagos 2-1.

Katsina United go into the match seeking a return to winning ways after drawing their past two league games. The Chanji Boys were held to a 1-1 draw by Rivers United before producing the same result against Inter Lagos last weekend.

Those consecutive draws have left Katsina United without a victory in their last two NPFL outings, increasing the importance of Friday’s home fixture.

Enyimba, by contrast, have improved after a difficult start to the season. Emmanuel Deutsch’s team are unbeaten in their last three league matches, recording two wins and one draw during that sequence.

The Aba-based club will look to continue that run when they travel to face Katsina United.
