Nigeria international Victor Osimhen was once again the hero for Galatasaray as he scored a brace in their 3-2 victory over Samsunspor in the Turkish Super Lig on Sunday.

With star striker Mauro Icardi sidelined due to an ACL injury sustained in their previous match, Osimhen stepped up to lead the defending champions to their 10th win in 11 games this season.

The Super Eagles forward opened the scoring for Galatasaray with a superb header just three minutes into the match. Despite a strong response from Samsunspor, who equalized through Olivier Ntcham’s penalty early in the second half, Osimhen was on hand to restore Galatasaray’s lead with another clinical header.

As the visitors pressed for an equalizer, super substitute Michy Batshuayi sealed the win for Galatasaray with a late strike, keeping the pressure at bay following a late goal from Yousef Ait Bennaser that made it 3-2.

Osimhen’s brace helped him extend his impressive form, taking his tally to eight goals and four assists in just nine appearances for Okan Buruk’s side. The 25-year-old has been in exceptional form since joining on loan from Napoli, scoring six goals in six league matches.
