Rumour Mills: Napoli rejects Galatasaray’s bid to sign Osimhen on permanent basis

By Wale Mustapha

Italian club Napoli has turned down a €65 million bid from Turkish Super Lig champions Galatasaray for Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen.

The Super Eagles forward is currently on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli, with the Turkish side having the option to make the move permanent.

Despite the bid, Napoli, according to Italy’s Il Corriere dello Sport, are firm on their stance and have refused to lower the asking price for Osimhen, who is available for a permanent move at €75 million this month.

The Nigerian striker has enjoyed a stellar season in Turkey, scoring 12 goals in 15 league appearances for Galatasaray.

He was also reportedly approached by Manchester United earlier this month but is said to have rejected the move.

Galatasaray’s hopes of securing Osimhen on a permanent deal this transfer window have now been dashed, as Napoli seems determined to hold out for their asking price.
