Rumour Mills: Rangers open preliminary talks with clubs interested in Cyriel Dessers

By Wale Mustapha

Scottish Premier League giants Rangers have initiated preliminary discussions with clubs showing interest in their out-of-favor Nigerian striker, Cyriel Dessers.

The 27-year-old forward, whose future at Ibrox looks uncertain, has struggled for form this season. Dessers has found himself relegated to the bench after the rise of Moroccan striker Hamza Igamane.

In his last four Scottish Premier League appearances, Dessers has failed to register a goal or assist, while Igamane has impressed with five goals and one assist during the same period.

As a result, Rangers are exploring potential offers for the Nigerian international ahead of the upcoming winter transfer window.

Rangers insider Joshua Barrie confirmed on his official X handle that the club has opened talks with interested parties.

Dessers has been linked with two Serie A clubs, Empoli and Cagliari. A move to Italy would present an opportunity for the Nigerian striker to reignite his career.

Despite his current struggles, Dessers has shown his quality with a record of 12 goals and four assists in 30 appearances for Rangers this season, a form that could attract potential suitors.
