Tosin Demehin misses Super Falcons clash with Le Bleues

By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde

Ahead of this weekend’s friendly match between Nigeria’s senior women’s national team and their counterparts from France, the nine-time African champions will be without Galatasaray defender Oluwatosin Demehin.

Demehin will miss the friendly encounter with Le Bleues due to injury.

Her absence is a huge blow for Justine Madugu’s side as they hope to get a positive result against the French for the first time.

Madugu will have to decide which of England-based Rofiat Imuran and home-girl Sikiratu Isah will pair veteran Osinachi Ohale at the heart of the defense, with Michelle Alozie and returning Ashley Plumptre expected to man the wing-back positions.

The gaffer may also decide to use another home-girl, Shukurat Oladipo in her accustomed centre-back position.

The last meeting at the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup ended 1-0 in favour of the French.

Meanwhile, as at breakfast in Angers, the full squad for the game can be confirmed despite the absence of Demehin.

19 players were part of the team’s final training session.
