By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde
With the season-ending Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership in sight for Bayelsa Queens, Vera Samuel opens up on her aspirations for the season.
The former Edo Queens player enjoyed a wonderful 2023/24 season with her former side which won the league title for the first time.
They also won the West Africa Zone B (WAFU-B) title and reached the semifinals of the 2024 CAF Women’s Champions League.
With such a wonderful experience on the home and international front, Vera intends to replicate the same feat and even go far in winning the CAF Women’s Champions League with the Prosperity Girls.
“Our main target is to gain a ticket to CAF. We Bayelsa queens aspire to be the best female team in Africa,” Samuel told www.nigeriafootball.ng
Unbeaten so far this season in the NWFL Premiership, Bayelsa Queens intends to reclaim the league title which has eluded them since 2022.
“The season has been great so far for us with the help of God, dedication, and focus. Expectations have been met.” She concluded.
The former Royal Queens player has scored two goals for Bayelsa Queens in the league and hopes to do more in the course of their title challenge.
