Victor Osimhen eyes strong finish as Galatasaray chase Turkish Super Lig title

By Dayo Awoniyi

Galatasaray striker and Nigerian international Victor Osimhen has admitted that the final stretch of the Turkish Super Lig season will be a stern test, as the club pushes for the league title.

Osimhen found the net again on Friday, scoring Galatasaray’s second goal in a 2-0 win over Samsunspor. The goal took his league tally to 21 for the season, reaffirming his role as a vital component of the club’s title charge.

Speaking after the match, the 26-year-old emphasized the need for unwavering focus and collective effort as the season enters its decisive phase.

“Right now, the focus is on us. We have a responsibility as a team, and we want to win. We actually have the quality to win every match,” Osimhen told reporters.

He acknowledged the strength of Galatasaray’s upcoming opponents, but expressed confidence in the squad’s ability to deliver when it matters most.

“It’s not easy—we’re facing very strong opponents. We have to be ready to overcome them and lift the cup at the end of the season. We just need to fight,” he said.

Osimhen stressed the importance of consistency and commitment, noting that each remaining fixture is like a final.

“We have to give everything each time we step on the pitch. I believe we’ll have the edge by the end of the season, but like I said, it won’t be easy.”

With 21 league goals in a standout campaign, Osimhen remains a key figure in Galatasaray’s bid to secure the championship crown.
