Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen has acknowledged that the remaining matches of the season will be challenging as his team faces strong competition from Fenerbahce, managed by Jose Mourinho.
The Yellow and Red Lions secured a crucial 2-1 victory over Alanyaspor at the GAIN Park Stadium on Sunday, with Osimhen scoring the winning goal.
This victory put Okan Buruk’s side seven points clear of their Istanbul rivals, Fenerbahce, who have a game in hand.
Osimhen, who has been in exceptional form this season, has registered 23 goals and five assists in 29 appearances, including 17 league goals.
Reflecting on the match, he admitted that the first half was below their usual standard but praised his team’s strong second-half performance.
“First of all, I would like to congratulate the team and thank our fans,” Osimhen said on the club’s official website.
“ I think we would not have had the energy to get these three points without them.
“We were not very good in the first half, but we were able to improve ourselves in the second half.
“We knew that every match until the end of the season would be very difficult and that it would be the final. We will try to maintain our momentum.”
With the title race heating up, Osimhen’s leadership and goal-scoring form will be pivotal as Galatasaray aims to secure the league title.
