2024 CAF Awards: Stanley Nwabali nominated for Goalkeeper of the Year

Nigeria international Stanley Nwabali has been recognized as a nominee for the CAF Goalkeeper of the Year award, following an impressive performance during the 2023 AFCON in Ivory Coast.
The Super Eagles shot-stopper had a standout debut campaign, achieving four clean sheets and conceding only four goals in eight matches.
His heroic penalty saves in the semifinal against South Africa were pivotal in securing Nigeria’s place in the final, earning him the Player of the Match accolade.
Currently with Chipper United, Nwabali has been instrumental in his team’s sixth-place standing in the South African Premier League, showcasing his exceptional penalty-saving skills.
He will compete against ten other talented African goalkeepers for the prestigious award.
The nominees include Oussama Benbot (Algeria / USM Alger), Andre Onana (Cameroon / Manchester United), Yahia Fofana (Côte d’Ivoire / Angers SCO), Lionel Mpasi (DR Congo / Rodez AF), Mostafa Shobeir (Egypt / Al Ahly), Djigui Diarra (Mali / Young Africans), Munir El Kajoui (Morocco / RS Berkane), Ronwen Williams (South Africa / Mamelodi Sundowns), and Amanallah Memmiche (Tunisia / Espérance Sportive de Tunis).
The 2024 CAF Awards will take place in Marrakech, Morocco, on December 16.
