Holders of the Federation Cup (Nigeria version of FA Cup), Bayelsa Queens thrashed Golden Sports Club 5-0 in the final of the State FA Cup on Saturday.

A brace from Mercy Omokwo plus strikes from Anjor Mary, Mercy Itimi and Anointed Martha lifted Domo Okara’s side to a big win.

Mercy Itimi started the goal rush for the Yenegoa-based side in the 26th minute while Anjor Mary doubled the lead a minute later.

Omokwo scored her first which made it 3-0 from the penalty spot in the 38th minute.

Ten minutes into the second half, the former Delta Queens star and last season’s league top goal scorer completed her brace.

Anointed Martha sealed the win in the 75th minute.

The victory qualified the Prosperity Girls and Golden Sports Club for the Federation Cup.

The former league winners defeated Rivers Angels on penalties to win the Federation Cup last season.

Meanwhile, Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side, Bayelsa United edged Krosader FC 1-0 to win the men’s category of the Bayelsa State FA Cup.
