Oluomachi Onwere: Heartland Queens defender eyes Super Six spot against Naija Ratels

By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde

Heartland Queens centre back, Oluomachi Sharon Onwere is targeting a win against Naija Ratels FC with qualification ticket for the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership Super Six in mind.

The Owerri-based side welcomes Bankole Olowookere’s side from the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in the Matchday 13 tie as they sit in second in Group A with 12 points, tied with third-placed Confluence Queens.

Onwere feels her career will make a huge leap if Obi Ogbala’s side make it to the Super Six.

“It will be a dream come true for me to be a party to Super Six success,” she told Heartland Queens Media.

“My colleagues in other teams that have attained the Super Six status always inundate me on how fulfilling and funfare it is to partake in the elite football fiesta, and they always add that it truly makes you feel like a woman, and for me, it is already feeling like I am becoming a woman.

“I will be the happiest person on Mother Earth to be a party to the historical achievement, and that goes to the entire team. It’s first in the history of the team and history is about to be made.”

Heartland Queens will pick the Super Six ticket with a win over Naija Ratels ahead of their final game of the regular season against Dannaz Ladies in Lagos.

It will be a historic season for the Owerri-based side to achieve Super Six feat in their second season since returning to the top flight.
