Nigeria goalkeeper Adebayo Adeleye departs Hapoel Jerusalem after six years

Nigeria goalkeeper, Adebayo Adeleye, has announced his departure from Hapoel Jerusalem after six years with the Israeli club.
Adeleye’s contract with Hapoel Jerusalem will officially end on June 30. In a heartfelt message on his X handle, Adeleye expressed his gratitude to the club for their support and encouragement during his time there.
“A big thank you to Hapoel Jerusalem for your supports and motivations, good 6 years with the club wasn’t a waste. Thanks for encouraging me to keep striving for the best. You’ll forever remain in my heart,” Adeleye wrote.
Adeleye joined Hapoel Jerusalem in 2018 and made his first appearance for the club in August 2019. Over the years, he established himself as the first-choice goalkeeper and played a crucial role in helping the team secure promotion to the Israeli Premier League, achieving 19 clean sheets in the process.
Adeleye has also represented Nigeria at various age-grade levels and made his Super Eagles debut in a 3-2 win against Sierra Leone on June 18, 2023.
As he bids farewell to Hapoel Jerusalem, Adeleye leaves behind a legacy of dedication and excellence, with fans and the club wishing him success in his future endeavors.
