Sporting Lagos Take Command of NNL Super 4 Title Race

Sporting Lagos strengthened their grip on the Nigeria National League (NNL) Super 4 title race with a commanding 4–0 victory over Doma United on Wednesday in Ikenne, Ogun State.

After edging Ranchers Bees 1–0 in their opening match, the Lagos-based club delivered an impressive attacking performance to secure their second consecutive win of the tournament.

Seun Akanji gave Sporting Lagos the lead in the first half before Shola Oladunjoye extended the advantage moments after the restart, capitalizing on a rebound after Victor Samuel’s initial effort caused problems in the Doma United defence.

Captain Solomon Uloko added further gloss to the scoreline with a brace late in the game, completing a dominant outing for Sporting Lagos.

The victory moves Sporting Lagos to the top of the Super 4 standings with six points from two matches, putting them in a strong position to claim the overall NNL title.

In the other fixture of the day, Inter Lagos bounced back from their opening defeat to Doma United with a 2–0 win against Ranchers Bees.

Ranchers Bees have now suffered back-to-back defeats in the competition and remain bottom of the table, despite already earning promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

Doma United sit third on the standings following their earlier triumph over Inter Lagos.

The tournament now heads into its final round of matches, highlighted by a decisive Lagos derby between Sporting Lagos and Inter Lagos.
