Uchenna Kanu scores fifth goal of the season as Racing Louisville beat Chicago

Nigeria forward Uchenna Kanu returned to her American team, Racing Louisville after the Paris 2024 Olympics and inspired them to a 3-1 win over Chicago Red Star on Sunday.

Kanu opened the scoring for the host with Bethany Balcer’s assist in the 12th minute.

Chicago Red Star responded with the leveler in the 59th minute through Jameese Joseph.

Kayla Fischer set up Marisa DiGrande who restored Racing’s lead in the 61st minute.

Fischer sealed the win the the third goal in the 77th minute at the Lynn Family Stadium.

Kanu, who scored her fifth goal of the season in the NWSL, was substituted for Emma Sears in the 55th minute.

She was named the player of the match by her team after the match.

Racing Louisville moved to the eighth position with 19 points after 17 games.
