Osun Babes captain, Bunmi Elizabeth, is determined to secure one of the two promotion tickets from the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Championship to the Premiership.
The Omoluabi Babes have been in formidable form, winning all three of their matches so far, and will face Gallant Queens on Friday in a decisive clash that will determine their fate.
Bunmi Elizabeth emphasized that securing promotion is a non-negotiable goal for her team, given the significant resources and sacrifices invested in their campaign.
āOur target from the start was clear: we came here for promotion,ā Bunmi told nigeriafootball.ng in an exclusive interview. āWeāve been blessed with good performances so far, but we know we need to give our all to achieve our goal of reaching the NWFL Premiership.ā
She also highlighted the crucial support from the Osun State Governor, which has been a major morale booster for the team. āThe support from our governor has been incredibly motivating. Heās not only encouraged us but also promised a substantial reward if we achieve promotion,ā Bunmi added.
With an impressive tally of 16 goals scored and no goals conceded in their three matches, Osun Babes are in a strong position as they head into their final group game.
āOur focus remains on the final game against Gallant Queens. We are fully committed and believe that, with hard work and determination, we will achieve our goal of promotion,ā Bunmi concluded.
