NPFL: Heartland coach optimistic about away win against Kwara United

By Saheed Afolabi
Heartland FC head coach Emmanuel Olowo is confident that his team can secure an away win against Kwara United in Ilorin, as they aim to continue their strong start to the new Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.
The coach expressed his belief that the Naze Millionaires are ready to work hard and claim the maximum points at stake, citing the historical advantage in their past encounters with the Afonja Warriors.
“We are prepared as usual, and looking at the form of Heartland FC, you can see how focused and determined the players are for this task,” Olowo said in an interview with Heartland FC. “We are ready to compete.”
The fixture between the two teams has always been closely contested, and Olowo is hopeful that history will repeat itself with another positive result. “In previous years, we’ve earned points here, and I believe that tomorrow (today) won’t be an exception,” he added.
Reflecting on last season’s encounter, Olowo admitted that the game was affected by Heartland’s relegation status at the time. “Before the last season’s game, we already knew we were relegated, but Kwara United needed the game to remain in the league. We came into that match too casual,” he explained.
However, this season is a different proposition for Heartland, and Olowo is focused on steady progress. “This season is a different ball game. We just need to climb up step by step, and definitely, we will give our all,” he concluded.
With a determined mindset and a squad eager to prove themselves, Heartland will look to continue their push for a strong finish with a crucial victory over Kwara United.
