Sevilla manager Garcia Pimienta has opened up about the transfer situation surrounding Kelechi Iheanacho.
The Nigerian striker has struggled to find the back of the net in LaLiga, failing to score in nine appearances, most of which have been as a substitute. However, he has managed to net three goals in the Copa del Rey.
Pimienta revealed that Iheanacho has received offers from other clubs, but he remains uncertain about the possibility of a mid-season move.
The Sevilla boss explained that certain travel restrictions could prevent a transfer from materializing in the upcoming winter window.
“We do know that he (Iheanacho) has offers from other clubs, but I don’t know if they are really interested.
At least, I don’t know if this will end up happening or not, but it is true that he cannot travel due to some minor problems,” Pimienta said during a press conference ahead of Sevilla’s Copa del Rey clash with Almeria.
Sevilla, currently 14th in LaLiga with 22 points from 18 matches, will face Almeria in the round of 32 of the Copa del Rey on Saturday, December 4.
