Christopher Danjuma exonerates players after loss to Edo Queens

The head coach of Nigeria U-20 women’s national team, who also doubles as the gaffer of Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership side, Nasarawa Amazons, Christopher Danjuma, has absolved his players from blame.
This came after a 2-0 loss to Edo Queens in Matchday five of the NWFL Premiership at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City, on Wednesday.
The result was the Solid Babe’s second loss of the season after winning their remaining three games.
“Well for my team, that’s football for you. When you make mistakes you pay for it,” Danjuma said.
“My next game will be against Heartland Queens of Owerri at home. Every point is important. If you want to remain in the race, you take every point.
“Footballers are human beings. No matter how you work, sometimes, somewhere, somebody fails to live up to expectations, and you pay for it dearly. So it’s a normal thing.
“In football, sometimes you play, you win. Sometimes you lose some. So no blame from anybody. We are going back to our base and restrategise. We have a target, and we are determined to achieve it no matter the odds before it.” He concluded.
Danjuma’s side started their league campaign with a hard-fought 1-0 win over Dannaz Ladies in Lafia.
A 3-0 loss to Abia Angels followed before the Solid Babes edged Confluence Queens 1-0 in Anyimgba.
They returned home to inflict a 2-0 loss on Ekiti Queens before this latest setback.
Next Wednesday, they host Heartland Queens which is in search of their first win.
