Chioma Olise Resumes Second Season with Trabzonspor Women After Promising Debut

By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde

Nigerian midfielder Chioma Olise is set to return for her second season with Turkish club Trabzonspor Women, following an impressive debut campaign that showcased her growing potential on the European stage.

The 20-year-old joined Trabzonspor in January 2024 and wasted no time making her mark. In just nine appearances, Olise tallied two assists and netted a goal, quickly establishing herself as a key figure in the midfield. Her flair, agility, and vision played a vital role in helping the club secure a respectable fifth-place finish in the Turkish Women’s Super League—a significant step forward for a team still finding its footing in one of Europe’s rising women’s football scenes.

Olise earned praise for her ability to adapt to the demands of Turkish football, demonstrating technical finesse and tactical maturity beyond her years. Her composure in possession and knack for controlling the tempo made her a fan favorite and a valued asset for the coaching staff.

“I’m grateful for the opportunity to grow and contribute more this season,” Olise shared in a recent interview. “Trabzonspor has welcomed me with open arms, and I’m excited to continue the journey with this amazing team.”

With preseason training now in full swing, expectations are high as Olise prepares for her first full season in Trabzon. Her development will be key to the club’s ambitions of climbing further up the table—and perhaps securing a first-ever qualification for European competition.

All eyes will be on Olise as the 2025 season unfolds, with hopes that the dynamic Nigerian midfielder can continue to elevate both her game and Trabzonspor’s prospects.
