Nigeria’s Super Falcons have advanced to the semifinals of the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) after a commanding 5-0 win over Zambia.
Goals from Osinachi Ohale, Esther Okoronkwo, Chinwendu Ihezuo, Tosin Demehin, and Folashade Ijamilusi sealed the emphatic quarterfinal victory at Stade Moulay Hassan.
The House of Representatives Committee on Sports, led by Honourable Kabiru Amadu, praised the team’s performance, highlighting their defensive strength and scoring prowess — nine goals scored and none conceded so far.
Amadu assured the Falcons of the nation’s full backing in their bid for a tenth WAFCON title.
Nigeria will face either South Africa or Senegal in the semifinals.
